Abstract

Vegetable peddlers or widely known mlijo in Indonesia is one of the first livelihood choices for local people with limited business capital. Nowadays, the existence of mlijo is increasingly difficult with the advent of supermarkets and mini markets which provide fresh goods, not to mention the competition among mlijo themselves. This paper develops a web-based e-commerce application for groceries trading. This application could help mlijo expand their business by finding customers and shorten the distribution path so the selling price could be lower. This application could also ease the life of homemakers. They only need to order from home and wait for the goods to be delivered, not necessary to go to the traditional or supermarket. This app was successfully built and uploaded to http://iict-rg.net/mlijo using MySQL software with PHP notepad programming language and Xampp. This app has been equipped with chat and features GPS (Global Positioning System) so that mlijo position can be observed through the website in real time. The test result shows that this application could function well with good location accuracy. © 2018 IEEE.
