This research aimed to design and implementation an online tryout system. This media is a means of independent student learning to prepare the online mid-exam and final exams. During this pandemic, students were required to study independently. With this system, it was expected that it could help students improve learning at home during the pandemic. In this research study involved 31 students majoring in information technology, State Polytechnic of Malang, as application users in learning programming courses. Implementation of this system, students installed applications on android smartphones. The application could be directly used after it was installed on the smartphone and students could immediately work on practice questions. The results of this study revealed that this application could improve students' understanding of the lecture material given online by the teacher. The result of the difference in the results of the final exam and mid exam 5,502 points. © 2023 Author(s).
