Power transformers are crucial in electrical power systems, and their reliability is dependent on components like dielectric, bushing, and On-Load Tap Changer (OLTC). Managing the health of these components is challenging due to the volume of transformers and complexity of condition data. To develop specific health indices for dielectric, bushing, and OL TC components, providing a systematic evaluation method for transformer health. The study identifies key input parameters, determines weighting factors using expert judgment, formulates a scoring table, and aggregates these elements into a holistic health index. The basis of this formulation is international guideline and standards, as well as expert judgment and knowledges. Additionally, the developed method as part of this study provides a systematic and quantifiable means to evaluate the health status of these components from very good to very poor. The aggregated health index output offers a nuanced understanding of transformer health, facilitating targeted maintenance and intervention strategies. © 2024 IEEE.
