East Kalimantan is among the most important producers of white peppers. Innovations are necessary to increase the added value of commodities, especially white pepper oil, to increase the competitiveness of white pepper commodities. However, the purpose of this study was to analyze the efficiency of the extraction of native Kalimantan white pepper oil (KWPO) using non-conventional methods, such as Microwave-assisted Hydro Distillation (MAHD) and Ultrasound Followed by Hydro Distillation (US-HD). This study also explored the multiple extraction kinetics model of KWPO to develop a model capable of accurately reflecting experimental data for both approaches. Among the investigated kinetic models are the first-order, second-order, Peleg, Elovich, and Power Law models. Owing to faster washing and a diffusion rate constant that exceeded double that of US-HD, the MAHD technique for KWPO extraction was more effective and produced a higher yield than the US-HD technique. The Power Law kinetic model offered the best fit to the MAHD and US-HD experimental data, despite the fact that practically all five kinetic models were applicable with R2 > 0.90 and MRPD < 5%. In contrast, the second-order kinetic model was the worst model in the US-HD experiment because of its low coefficient of determination (R2 < 0.9) and high MRPD (>15%), whereas the Peleg kinetic model had a higher MRPD but a lower R2 © 2023 American Institute of Physics Inc..
