Planar monopole antennas are still interesting for development with various purposes in communication systems. This study will discuss a planar monopole antenna using a Rogers substrate (ϵr)=2.2×10-12 F·m-1. There are several important parameters studied in relation to antenna performance, including Voltage Standing Wave Ratio and Gain. Dimensions Ls (1mm, 2mm, 3mm, 4mm) and Ws (0.5mm, 1mm, 1.5mm, 2mm) are variably connected with wavelength to see the Gain and Voltage Standing Wave Ratio of the proposed antenna. As a result, from the four experiments on Ls and Ws, the antenna with the lowest VSWR was produced with a value of 1.66. The point with the lowest VSWR operates at a resonant frequency of 22.73 GHz with a return loss of -12.23dB and gains up to 4.65dB. From the results of the VSWR, it can be concluded that the planar monopole antenna can work well because it has a VSWR value of <2. From the above results it can be concluded that the planar monopole antenna can work well in the application of low orbit satellite communication. © 2023 Author(s).
