Abstract

Water is an essential part of life. Indonesia operates a state-run drinking water company and distributes water through manual water meters at customer locations. Due to the fact that the recording process still relies on human labor, billing and usage are often out of sync. The objective of this study is to propose a smart water meter that communicates using LoRA technology. In contrast to the previous system, this system sends the bill recording process to the server automatically every day. Also, this smart water meter has a battery, so it will automatically operate if there is a power outage. According to the results of this study, LoRA can successfully send smart water meter data up to 98 percent with varying delay variations and includes 4 nodes. © 2023 IEEE.
