Abstract

Technological developments in the field of access points have now reached the 5G frequency. But most of the antennas used in access points are omnidirectional which cannot shoot long distances. To find a longer distance, the antenna itself was developed to take advantage of existing tools for the desired system. One type of antenna that is often developed is the microstrip antenna. The shape and size of the antenna dimensions are smaller, the price, the materials are simple and able to provide a fairly good performance. The purpose of this design is to create a longer directional distance by microstrip antennas on routers with 2G and 5G specifications. The designed microstrip antenna is capable of working on 2G and 5G frequencies, where the frequency for 2G is 2407.2 MHz and for 5G frequency is 5820.4 MHz. The 2G frequency bandwidth has a bandwidth of 84 MHz and the 5G frequency bandwidth has a bandwidth of 118.4 MHz. © 2021 IEEE.
