Pico-hydro Archimedes is a method of generating electricity that uses hydropower with a screw-shaped design. The author designed this power plant in a portable form, which is more efficient and can be placed easily in the waterways without requiring a fixed intake. able to work with low flow and low head. In experiments conducted by the author at three different locations, it was found that turbines produce the highest electricity generation at locations with relatively higher slopes and air discharges. At a water discharge of 0.011952 m3/s, the turbine is able to rotate at a speed of 322 rpm, producing a maximum no-load voltage of 15 volts. When the power plant is loaded with 15 watts of power, the resulting voltage is around 8 volts with a current of 0.8 amperes. These results indicate that the Archimedes Pico-hydro plant is capable of producing sufficiently effective electrical power even on a small scale, even though the power produced is less than 5 kw, which is already a generator. In this portable design, the shape and placement of the turbine are very important to achieve optimal efficiency. Higher slopes and water discharge provide greater potential for generating electrical energy. Therefore, choosing the right location is very important to maximize the power potential generated by this Pico-hydro Archimedes system. © 2023 IEEE.
