This research aims to design board games to improve Islamic financial literacy and support the public education of Islamic finance to achieve a higher literacy index. Board games allow for an interesting, fun, and easy-to-use education medium. This research uses the ADDIE model applied research approach, which includes Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate. Focus Group Discussions (FGD) were conducted during the Analyze stage, and the results indicated that educational media was required in the form of games that were simple to play, enjoyable, affordable, colourful, and of moderate size. The KBES (Islamic Economic Playing Card) board game was designed and printed during the Design stage, and it is comprised of the following components: a board game box, a guidebook, question and answer cards, plastic money, and token markers. Subsequently, the Development stage conducts product trials and validation tests. The board game prototype was validated by content specialists and refined based on feedback, including Sharia-compliant icons, rephrased questions, changing the play money colour, and adding an hourglass for timing. An Islamic bank manager validation test showed that the KBES game enhances Islamic finance literacy. The game was interesting and simple, improving Islamic finance awareness. KBES is an innovative, accessible platform for interactive Islamic finance education. In the Implementation stage, there was an increase of the pre-test average scores (5.80) to the post-test scores (7.59); significant with p-value is 0.0000. In addition, the variance of the score also showed an increase, from 3.10 to 3.27. Therefore, it can be concluded that this game can increase Islamic economic/financial literacy significantly. In the Evaluation stage, all aspects of the assessment received very good scores because the feasibility value is in the feasible/valid category (above 60%). Therefore, this KBES board games is recommended to be used as an Islamic financial education media. © 2026 GMP Press and Printing.
