Abstract

Various technologies have been applied to support online learning activities during the pandemic, both theoretical and practical learning. Unlike other universities, vocational universities have many practicum courses, so the practicum learning model must be well defined so that students can easily understand the material for the success of the learning process. Students often have difficulty participating in practicum for programming courses due to limited resources and lack of interaction with lecturers during the online learning process. In this research, interactive learning based on the Jupyter Lab platform was developed using Intellij IDEA, Gitlab repository, Github, Python 3, Jupyter Notebook, Java 9, Markdown, and Docker containers. The learning media developed is browser-based, so students and lecturers can access it via the web or mobile. Through a questionnaire given to 49 respondents who took the Programming Fundamental Practicum course, the average percentage generated was 79.14%, which means that the respondents agreed with all the statements submitted in the questionnaire. Meanwhile, respondents stated that they strongly agree with the convenience provided by Jupyter Notebook to learn the Java programming language compared to using the command prompt with a percentage of 81.63%. © 2022 IEEE.
