Abstract

Duck farming is one of the businesses that have good development prospects, considering that ducks are one of the birds that have superior disease resistance compared to poultry in general. Seeing the magnitude of the risk in conventional hatching, the solution for breeders is an egg incubator. However, the use of machines with electrical energy has a drawback, namely the expenditure of electricity costs that are quite large, this makes the breeders a little hesitant in choosing the hatching method. Considering that solar energy is free and eternal, it is considered very wise to reduce the exploitation of the world's fossil energy. By implementing a hybrid solar thermal accumulator temperature control with hysteresis method on duck egg hatcher. From the overall results of temperature testing on the accumulator and hatcher with control using the hysteresis method, it can run according to the temperature setpoint on the hatcher. Thus the control system with the hysteresis method can reduce the electrical energy of PLN (State Electricity Company), and the solar thermal accumulator engine can reduce the cost of electrical energy each period up to 41.6%. This is evidenced by the maximum average power of using lamps and blowers for the longest time is 9.5 hours/day. The accumulator machine can stabilize the hatcher temperature at 36-37°C and the accumulator machine can help breeders in hatching duck eggs and reduce the electricity costs that must be incurred each period of hatching eggs or about 25-28 days. Energy use for one day one night or 24 hours. The total energy of sunlight used is 10619.976 Wh, the energy value of the blower is 131.328 Wh, the energy value of the lamp used is 1094.61 Wh, and the control energy used to open and close the array using the hysteresis method is 491.505 Wh, and the energy of the egg used is as much as 503.333 Wh. © 2022 IEEE.
