Abstract

The usage of renewable energy sources, such as Solar Power Plants is growing in response to the problems posed by climate change and rising energy demands. Real-time and precise monitoring of operating parameters is crucial for maximizing the effectiveness and dependability of Solar Power Plants. In this context, the use of IoT technology in photovoltaic parameter monitoring systems is an innovative solution. This system is made to measure, collect, and communicate vital data in real-time, including light intensity, temperature, humidity, wind speed, voltage, current, and power. This solar panel monitoring system research technique makes use of the Internet of Things (IoT), which can monitor two photovoltaic units linked in a single converter unit by using the ESP8266 as a data processor and transmitter. An LCD display may be used to see data from numerous linked sensors. The estimated MAPE for each sensor is 1.17% for the Voltage Sensor, 0.0485% for the current sensor, 0.028% for the temperature sensor, 0.226% for the humidity sensor, 0.00725% for the light intensity sensor, and 0.089% for the anemometer. © 2023 IEEE.
