Abstract

Electrical has been the primary energy source for supporting people to carry out their daily activities as well as facilities whether private, public, or goverment ones. Some facilities called Critical Information Infrastructure (CII) are very vulnerable of losing their electrical supply because of cyberattack which is directed to their computer-based systems or to their electrical supply. Therefore, a kind of health monitoring system is needed. If cyberattack to the computer-based system can be monitored by Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) and electrical grid already equipped with Supervisory Control and Data Acquistion (SCADA). Cyberattacks which affect to the decreasing of power quality will result in blackout and it will take some time to recover the electrical suppy. In this paper we propose an Energy Monitoring System (EMS) to monitor the electrical supply to strategic facilities based on an information from power quality which consists of harmonics voltage and current, voltage, current, reactive power, and imbalance load through Internet-of-Things (IoT) device. By monitoring the anomalies of the power quality of electrical supply supplied from the electrical grid, we can do anticipations before a cyberattack gives bigger impact to strategic facilities under protection and also can be used to develop a mitigation to protect them from possible cyberattacks in the future. © 2019 IEEE.
