The need for electricity supply in modern society is quite high. To be able to meet the needs of the community, a Mobile Substation Unit (MSU) is needed. The working principle of the MSU is the same as the Distribution Substation Unit, which regulates the amount of current that will be distributed to the consumer. MSU consists of the MV Chamber; a low voltage transformer, panel, and cable reels. Disturbances that are often encountered in the field are sparks, short circuits, and overloads. The focus of this research is how to overcome the overload disturbance at MSU. The proposed solution for this problem is to use a differential relay on the MSU transformer, adding fuzzy logic to determine the cutoff limit to protect the transformer. With the research results obtained, it is concluded that with the differential relay controlled by fuzzy logic, the system is intelligently able to work automatically according to the IF-THEN which is, based on the comparison between primary current and secondary current. With the test results when testing the output of 'NOTRIP', fuzzy logic produces an average fuzzy performance calculation of 16.152% with an average differential relay work delay of 0.676 seconds. At the time of testing the output 'NORMAL', fuzzy logic produces an average fuzzy calculation performance of 25.752% and an average differential relay work delay of 0.485 seconds. And when testing the 'TRIP' output, fuzzy logic produces an average fuzzy calculation performance of 36.512% and an average differential relay working delay of 0.271 seconds. © 2022 IEEE.
